Rubicon Restaurant

Just had the chance to try their menu, and we was seriously impressed! From the entrée to the main course, everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can really tell they put thought into the dishes. The ambiance inside is lovely, warm, intimate, and even a bit romantic with the soft lighting above the tables. It creates a really cozy and relaxing vibe. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic super friendly, attentive, and patient while we took our time deciding. Great service really makes a difference, and he nailed it. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for great food, a beautiful setting, and top notch service. We’ll definitely be back to try what’s on the next menu!

Rubicon delivers an excellent dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and well-balanced flavours. Everything from the starters to dessert was flavoursome. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and the atmosphere was warm and intimate. Definitely will be back.

What's not to love about Rubicon? This surprising little restaurant tucked away in the midst of suburban shops is my favorite restaurant in Australia. Order the zucchini flowers for the entree. We ordered the rib eye and lamb back straps along with the mousse and pannocotta for dessert. Who even knew artichoke chips was a thing? We sat there eating and savouring every bite without saying a word. It's the only time my husband is speechless.

Great spot for a romantic dinner out. Delicious food (perfectly cooked meats, veg etc), great service, lovely atmosphere. Nice having options for those with dietary restrictions (quite hard to find at some of the finer dining restaurants). Definitely recommend

Definitely one of my favourites. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We had the 6 course degustation which was definitely plentiful! The courses are delicious. Well plated with a wide range of ingredients that really worked well together. We liked that we were able to choose 6 courses from the whole menu. Would love to come back again.

Probably one of the more romantic, upscale type of restaurant I’ve been to. The atmosphere, decor and music are all very exclusive, and I love how sectioned off parts of the restaurant are so you feel you have some privacy and aren’t over hearing other people’s conversations. Food was delicious and the plating was beautiful. Gnocchi and kingfish sashimi were probably my favourites, and the yabbies were lovely too. Not my favourite beef tartare personally though. But overall delicious. Great service!

This is a lovely little restaurant with supposedly great ambiance, however, we were seated near the entrance and it was not as nice as the sections in the back. The food was decent but did not quite live up to expectations. The oysters were fresh and tasty, the bread was delicious but the starter and the main were a bit underwhelming. The kingfish sashimi was ok but a bit overdressed. The blue eye cod with seared scallops was tasty but the sauce was a bit thin and watery. I would rather not say anything about the house-made ice cream. The service was impeccable and overall it was a semi-enjoyable experience.

Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of parking, Rubicon delivered not only excellent food but also impeccable service. They allowed me (a table of 1) to have the degustation which is generally reserved for 2 or more. Some other restaurants don't have flexibility around this so I appreciated their flexibility. Their degustation is also interesting whereby you can select any 5 or 6 from the menu to try. They just adjust portions accordingly. I went for the 6 course and had the oysters, kingfish, prawn, duck, eye fillet and the chocolate parfait and they were all excellent! The duck may have been a little too undercooked for my comfort but was still great. Highly recommended if you are visiting Canberra and want a nice night out.
